What Do We Believe

First Baptist Church is a close-knit community of baptized believers, connected through a shared commitment to our faith and the gospel. Together, we follow Christ's teachings and use our unique talents to spread His message globally. Our church is a part of the larger Body of Christ, bringing together believers from every culture and language throughout history.

Scripture

The Holy Bible, inspired by God, is His message to humanity. It's considered a flawless guide, centered on salvation and truth. All Scripture is true and reliable, outlining God's judgment principles and serving as the foundation of Christian unity and the standard for evaluating behavior, beliefs, and religious views. It testifies to Christ, the focus of divine revelation.

God

There is one true God who is wise, spiritual, and personal. He created and rules the universe, known for His endless holiness and perfection. God is all-powerful and knows everything, including our choices. We owe Him our greatest love and obedience. This eternal God is shown to us as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with unique traits but united in essence.

Jesus

Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, fully obeying God's law while taking on human nature to connect with mankind. Through His death on the cross, He provided redemption from sin. After His resurrection, He appeared to His disciples, then ascended to heaven to be with God as the mediator between God and humanity. Jesus will return to judge the world and complete His mission of redemption. He currently lives within all believers as their constant, living Lord.

Salvation

Salvation is the process of being redeemed and is available to anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It encompasses four main aspects: regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. Regeneration is the transformation into a new life in Christ, initiated by God's grace and the Holy Spirit, leading to repentance and faith. Justification is being declared righteous by God, resulting in a peaceful relationship with Him. Sanctification is the ongoing journey of becoming more spiritually mature, guided by the Holy Spirit. Glorification is the ultimate fulfillment of salvation, where believers reach their final, blessed state. Each step is integral to the believer's spiritual journey and requires personal faith in Jesus Christ.
